When something stops you dead in your tracks, you know you’ve come across a true gem. As the editor of a children’s fashion-focused site, to say I see a lot of clothing and accessories is a vast understatement. It’s hard to turn my head nowadays. And yet, when I entered the H&M showroom to get a preview of their Kids S/S 2017 Studio Collection, I nearly knocked over a rack or two. The colors, the prints and the styling… where do I even begin? Let’s start with I want it all!
With a sweet yet tough ballerinas and boxers theme, H&M has once again created a knockout assortment that stands out from the fashion pack without being overtly cute or costumey. For girly-girl Elin I instantly chose a ruffled bikini with a bold “love” print, a glittery gold leotard and a matching soft beige ballerina skirt. Kaia has more of a quirky tomboy style so the hightop boxing boots for her along with a bright red reversible bomber and sporty cool track pants. My only regret is that I can’t layer the pale pink ballet flats over their bright striped athletic socks for myself (though I tried). Get some styling inspo from the whimsical campaign below and warning, act fast – H&M Kids Studio collections always sell out ridiculously quickly.
