I’ve always thought that dressing boys is a bit easier than dressing the little ladies – less accessories and frills to think about, and most boys seem to have a laid back attitude toward their wardrobes. The complaint I often to hear from their parents, however, is that things can get stale.

No need for that! Shake things with these four tips for making style just a tad more interesting for your MINIs. Don’t relegate your boy’s blazers for suits only – pair with well-cut sweatpants (yes, sweatpants!) and a graphic top. Speaking of suits, toss aside that button-down and replace with a t-shirt. For his everyday athletic wear, try an unexpected pop of color in a neon yellow or lime green. Boy’s denim? It goes with just about anything, include itself. Or if you’re not feeling the full body blues, wear a chambray shirt with shorts or layered over a t-shirt and khakis. And when you do go for a button down, skip the expected plaid and replace with a more modern looking horizontal stripe. I guess the rule really is, there are no rules!
